With this step, HDM Pipelines has put into practice its belief to play a vital role in the development of new methodologies to further assist water pipeline managers in their role to retain -or improve – water infrastructure to the required level. After all: Producing water with a certain quality is one thing, deliver the water whilst preserving the same quality with no losses, is another thing.
From its basic role as pipeline consultant, HDM Pipelines understands the day-to-day challenges with regards to transportation of drinking water and waste water through pipeline systems. And through these challenges the need to inspect and assess the quality of these systems grows, if only because these assets are aging.
But just ‘supplying’ solutions for inspection and for assessment is not enough; experience in the pipeline field within other sectors continues to prove that future needs will arise at pipeline asset owner and manager levels. Hence, HDM Pipelines decided to exert itself in this 4-year program to address the central theme to build smarter water grids.
